Cleaning your windows can be a task that people put off. Most people who have little or no experience find it daunting a generally a pain in the butt to not only clean their windows but to make sure their windows look good. Most people have grabbed their window cleaning solution, sprayed it on their windows, and scrubbed it with a rag only to find out they’ve smeared the dirt around and their windows are looking even worse than when they began.
You’re in luck, we spoke with the guys from nickswindowcleaning.ca and found out a few key steps on how to unlock the secret of streak-free windows.
The Window Cleaning Right Tools
When selecting window cleaning tools there are a number of options out there, all you really need is a window cleaning solution, a bucket, microfiber cloth, a squeegee, newspapers or coffee filters. The reasoning behind these choices is that the microfiber cloth will not leave any lint behind, the squeegee is the best way to remove the cleaning solution and dirty water, and the newspaper or coffee filters are great at wiping up after your work and each work equally well without leaving behind lint.
How to Get Your Windows Streak-Free
The technique is the most important part and where the most skill and patience is required. First we’ll give you an overview of the process; you’ll want to dip your cloth in your bucket of window cleaning solution and use it to wipe the whole surface of your window. Once you’ve done that, use the squeegee to remove the solution. There is a technique to the process of using a squeegee and if you experiment you’ll find that going from the top to the bottom in sweeping arcs is the ideal manner, this way you can cover all of your tracks and guide the cleaning solution and dirt to the bottom of the window. If you’re outside you can usually let this dirty water just run down the bottom, inside you’ll want to wipe it up a clean rag.
